Cala Capitán Beach – A Hidden Gem on Costa Blanca
Cala Capitán is one of the most beautiful hidden gems on the Costa Blanca South. This sheltered cove offers a perfect combination of natural beauty, calm waters, and excellent facilities.
Crystal Clear Waters
The cove is protected by rocky cliffs on both sides, creating calm, crystal-clear waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The water stays warm well into October, making it ideal for a late-season holiday.
Beach Facilities
Despite its natural feel, Cala Capitán has excellent facilities: sun loungers and parasols for rent, a popular beach bar (chiringuito) serving fresh food and cold drinks, and nearby parking. There are also showers and toilets available.
The Coastal Walk
A beautiful coastal path connects Cala Capitán to Cabo Roig and beyond. Walk along the cliffs at sunset for breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. The path continues to La Zenia and Playa Flamenca – perfect for morning jogs or evening strolls.
La Mata Nature Reserve
For nature lovers, the La Mata lagoon offers beautiful walking trails around the wetlands. Watch flamingos and other birds in their natural habitat. The circular walk around the lagoon takes about 2 hours and is mostly flat – great for all fitness levels.
