🍽️ Restaurant guides:
🍛 La Zenia: The Curry Corner
La Zenia hides a small curiosity: two of the area’s best-loved Indian restaurants sit practically next door to each other on Calle Maestro Torralba — pick a side:
Madras Cafe — the one visitors compare to a good UK curry house, and mean it as a real compliment. Solid classics at fair prices, minutes from La Zenia beach.
India Gate — a favourite of year-round residents, famous locally for its early-bird set menu (poppadoms, starters, mains and wine at a price that seems like a misprint). The butter chicken is the dish regulars swear by.
🍛 Playa Flamenca, Zeniamar & Around
Taj Indian Restaurant (Zeniamar) — ask locals to name the best Indian in the region and this is the name you’ll hear most often. Hundreds of glowing reviews, warm service that remembers birthdays, and a chicken tikka jalfrezi people plan return visits around. Book ahead.
The Bombay Supper Club (CC Flamenca Beach) — polished and personable; the sort of place that pours a celebratory glass of fizz when you mention an anniversary. Try the chicken pakora and prawn puri to start.
Shakira Indian Restaurant (end of CC Flamenca Beach, towards Campoamor) — generous set menus, patient staff and plenty of room for kids; grab a table towards the sea end of the commercial centre.
Mumbai Blue — a lively local favourite with an early-evening menu that regulars guard like a secret, standout grilled chicken and lamb tikka, and a cheese naan with a reputation. Come early or book.
Saffron Restaurant — flavour-first cooking (the madras gets special praise), attentive service and good-value kids’ dishes make it an easy family pick.
🍛 Cabo Roig & Campoamor
Punjabi Palace (Las Lomas, Cabo Roig) — authentic Punjabi cooking with portions built for people who take seconds seriously. Regulars claim to have eaten their way through the whole menu — and keep coming back.
Gurkha Kitchen — the wildcard on this list: Nepalese-Indian, family-run and a recent arrival, already collecting some of the warmest reviews in the area. The momos (Nepalese dumplings) are the order everyone talks about.
🍛 Near Villamartín
Villamartin Plaza itself has three Indian restaurants of its own (The Dining Room, Rajasthan and The Copper Chimney) — we compare them in our guide to restaurants in Villamartin Plaza. Just outside the Plaza, in CC La Fuente:
The Taste of India (CC La Fuente) — tucked at the back of the square, big on value and beloved for takeaway; handy if you’re basing yourself near the Villamartin golf courses and want a proper curry night in.
🍛 Torrevieja & La Mata
El Sabor Indian — the big name in Torrevieja, with a review count in the thousands. The garlic naan is the thing reviewers can’t stop mentioning; jalfrezi and bhuna are the go-to mains.
Bombay Dreams — one of the best-reviewed kitchens in town, and reviewers repeatedly mention how helpfully the staff handle dietary requests (always confirm allergens directly with the restaurant).
Shiva Bar Indian Restaurant (Torrevieja centre) — a small family-run gem mixing Indian classics with excellent kebabs; honest prices, huge warmth, the kind of place travellers write home about.
Tide & Taste (La Mata) — the curveball: Indian-leaning kitchen three steps from La Mata beach, palak paneer with a sea view and cold Cobra beer. Beach day, curry lunch — done.
